Xi says China and Germany have huge potential for win-win cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that China and Germany have huge potential for win-win cooperation, calling on the two countries to deepen cooperation in various fields.

Xi made the remarks in a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Germany, Xi said the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other as equals, and have achieved fruitful results in various fields.

China and Germany should take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary to deepen cooperation in various fields, and make contributions to promoting the healthy and stable development of China-Germany and China-Europe relations, Xi said.

For her part, Merkel said Germany is willing to work with China to strengthen communication and coordination, deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and push for new progress in bilateral ties.
